The Lady Hephaesta Binkalda Crumb the Tenth, Tenth of Her Name (first and house, anyway), Tenth of Her Maternal Line, Second of Her Expertise, Disseminator of Truths, Benefactor of the Worthy but Unwise, Paragon of Plants.
Born and educated on the Central and Capital Planet of Thrope in the Capital City of Misan (of the Churlish System), The Lady Hephaesta, from here forward referred to as Binky, left her home planet early in life to follow her M1’s (mother’s) lifelong work of locating and studying an ambulatory, carnivorous plant, and the circumstances in which it consumed her M3 (great-foremother).
Before this, the House of Crumb had held the distinction of being the only House in the Churlish system (and possibly the whole Consortium) to have devoted two generations of their study entirely to the eradication of gravity, which they held responsible for the demise of the Grand Matriarch (Binky’s M4, or great great foremother) The Lady Hephaesta Rebellatrix Crumb the Sixth.
Binky is the current Secretary of the Guild of Interplanetary Plantery Studies (GIPS). Her passion for justice and vindication for the House of Crumb drives her to knowledge of all plant life in the Churlish system and beyond. Her scholarly works have furthered the science of medicine, the art of pigments for dyes and paints, and the culinary practice of eating the head of the perspica mushroom first, as this is now considered the most humane practice.
Alongside her botanical work, Binky also holds a deep interest in genealogy. Specifically, her study of and work pertaining to the lineage tracking methods of her home world have made her a sought after advisor on matters of lineage and inheritance.
*The House of Crumb followed the Old Thropian Ways, both in the odd description of their matriarchal family lineage, and in choice of the focus of their House-to eradicate the most recent threat to the Family Name. It just so happened that The Lady Hephaesta Rebellatrix Crumb the Sixth was very clumsy, and The Lady Hephaesta Inocula Crumb the Seventh didn’t have the sense to turn down tea with a mysterious, handsome man-plant in a dark glen on a strange planet.
